Sports betting

Great tips and advice for sports betting

I am something of a sports nut, and consider myself to be something of a stats freak too. It should come as little surprise then, that when I was offered the opportunity to do some sports betting work, I fell in love with it.

Anybody worth their salt, who loves sports as much as I do, is not going to be fooled by any petty lies that a writer or company might try to spin around a particular sports bet. If the gamer knows their sports, they know what is worth a punt, and what is not. That is why my sports betting articles are unique, in that I tell the readers something they already know, but gently hint at something they probably don’t at the same time.

An example would be a post about an upcoming football match. Whilst they may have a feeling about who will win (and a strong one at that), I not only provide them with their odds of success, but also with updated team and player news, previous encounter results and more, to try and assist the bettor with as much knowledge of the fixture as possible. This I consider an honest and unique way of sports betting writing.

As well as promoting upcoming fixtures, it is also my job to write promotions and try to get players interested in other sporting bets that they wouldn’t ordinarily bet on. This I achieve by writing feature articles on upcoming sports events, such as the Grand National Horse Race, Wimbledon, Rugby, the Superbowl and other sporting spectacles.

There are generally three types of sports betting articles that I write. The first is the sportsbook site review. I also write sporting promotions/news pieces concerning recent events or upcoming bets, and finally the aforementioned feature piece, to lure in new gamers to a new type of sports bet. Each of these articles is wholly different from the others.

Generally, a sportsbook site review that is written by me will be anything from 400-700 words and contain the following.

  • An introduction about the site
  • A breakdown of the sports they offer betting services on
  • A section of the security and software run by the site
  • A rundown of the various customer support options and payment methods for both withdrawing and depositing funds
  • A section on bonuses, and special offers that the site has
  • Followed by a general overview of what the site has to offer sports lovers

A typical sports promotion article written by me will be roughly 250-400 words and containing the following.

  • A witty title that draws the reader in
  • The details of the latest offer
  • Why it is in the players interest to bet on said promotion
  • Statistics and an opinion about the best wager possible on the promotion

And finally, a feature article on sports will be roughly 700 words, and contain the following.

  • An introduction on the sport and the history behind it
  • A paragraph on this year’s tournament/competition
  • Several sub-headings containing good bets for the tournament/competition
  • An overview detailing if it were me, I would be focused on betting on this or that, and why

As an avid sports fan (particularly football), you can guarantee that there is a lot of passion and fire behind my sports articles, the type of passion and fire you can only get from a die-hard sports fan. I love all sports, and my writing backs that up, in a style and format that is easy to follow, and enjoyable to read for sports fans, whether they happen to be sports bettors regularly, or not.
