FAQs

Q: There are many copywriters based in the UK – what makes your offering so special?

A: I am able to work with clients and agencies from the mega to the micro market, and am able to work within all budgets. I have a wealth of experience in the UK copywriting marketplace, and able to come in at a fixed price point which makes it easier for clients to budget. I am also able to offer an excellent product for price. This has in the past seen us being awarded with wide variety of work. All fixed-price quotes include amendments and/or corrections to the job spec. Reliability, no hidden costs, and deadlines within reason are the name of my game.

Q: In terms of price comparison, how do your charges comparable with other writers or agencies.

A: I offer the service at the same level as ad agency expertise. However, I also guarantee a lower price point as well as a sense of urgency. While not exactly cheap, I am of the opinion that a client gets what they pay for, and cheap can in fact work out to be expensive when the writer does not have the correct experience to reproduce a product that is within the confines of good SEO practices. Suspiciously low pricing could mean spammy work or keyword stuffing. Search engine algorithms are now designed to penalise website or blog owners for publishing inorganic copy, not to mention the fact that the online purchasing audience is now sufficiently sophisticated to reject websites with shoddy content.

Q: My online business presence is new, and my budget extremely tight – are you able to assist?

A: There are always two sides to a coin, and the answer to this question is yes and no. Everyone has to start somewhere, and while I offer a good price point I am also professional. I offer a copy critique service, which can be very useful for website and blog owner who are writing their own copy. This service is obviously cheaper, and provides good guidelines of how to take the best advantage of search engine optimisation (SEO).

Q: What principles guide copy amendments?

A: Corrections and amendments to copy automatically granted to the client in terms of the quoted price. There are two sets of copy amends built into this, therefore, no hidden costs. What needs to be taken into consideration is the price point I come in at, and amends are required to be within relative terms.

Q: In terms of projects – what information is required?

A: It has to be assumed that the more information initially – the better. This ensures that the client gets what they want and has paid for. A good background outline is normal, examples of advertising material, ideas of what the competition is doing, structure, mandatory inclusions or exclusions, preferred keywords (perhaps), tone of voice and so on. These items and anything more are all relevant to get the message across in the best way.

Q: Emergency, panic stations – material is required yesterday. Are you able to assist?

A: Often the answer to this question is YES. However, the rate I charge may be more expensive, but this is the case with most emergency services. Last minute urgency such as this generally means working, longer or at unsociable hours, and this level of urgency may require an email with subject URGENT.

Q: As a copywriter who specializes in SEO (search engine optimisation), are you able to guarantee a website with first page ranking on Google?

A: The way in which website content is written and marketed is crucial to how it is ranked. Both Google and other search engines operate in the same way. The chances are that our website was found in this way, which essentially means I am doing things the right way. Unfortunately it is impossible to make any guarantees in terms of search engine ranking, and any other SEO writer making a claim such as guaranteed ranking should be considered to be highly suspect.

There are a number of factors which determine overall search engine listing, these factors include; how often the website or blog content is updated (very important), the competition, links, backlinks, and a number of other technical factors. What I can guarantee is my previous success in this field.

Q: If I am interested in making use of your skills for a project – what would be the correct procedure?

A: Tentative queries are welcome, where your requirements can be discussed. If, or when you decide to go ahead, I will agree on a fee as well as a timing-plan. A personal briefing meeting can be held on Skype if necessary.
